Sophie came to the studio for a self-love boudoir session this month. Obviously, we nailed it…
Here are 3 things I recommend everyone does before an in-studio photoshoot with me.
1. Get Inspired…By Everything
Hoard Pinterest inspiration of photoshoots, accessories, props, outfits, makeup, hairstyle ideas, poses, scenery. Whatever attracts you to the aesthetic you want to replicate in our session. Take photos of things that inspire you at work, on walks, at home. Bring props, accessories, outfits that inspire you and make you feel at home in the studio.
Don’t Knock It ‘Til You Try It
Take some of the inspiration you’ve found and try it out. A more colorful outfit, a different hairstyle, a pose that you’d love to try. Take selfies & videos of yourself more often coming up to your session to get more comfortable, but also to understand what feels better for you. Visual inspiration is great but doesnt’ alwasy feel right when we replicate it, it’s ok to feel a little uncomfortable in something new but the most important part of your photoshoot is feeling safe & 100% yourself.
2. Be Kind & Mindful
Manifest, Meditate, Meal Prep?
However you get yourself in a positive mindset, being graceful with yourself, your body, your vision. Gaining comfort and confidence in yourself leading up to a photoshoot can be daunting but it is an empowering time to come into your highest self and that is exactly what we aim to capture in every session. I reccommend everyone manifests with candles, journaling, affirmations, etc. But whatever makes you feel best inside is especially important leading up to our photoshoots, you look your best when you feel your best. Talk Affirmy To Me
Practice kind words to others and to yourself. This is another daily practice I reccommend but in the days leading to a photoshoots you can feel self-reflective in negative ways, feeling things could be better physically when all the right things are in all the right places and you are every bit of magic you ever were and ever will be RIGHT NOW. Practive kind words to your self every morning & night, replace negative self talk with a compiment based in your soul, not body. Our sessions are centered around who you are powered by & the aura you radiate. Nurture that gift and it’ll shine even brighter.
3. Rest More & More
& More
In the same idea of being kind to yourself and feeling your best, resting and recharging your body and mind bring you to a centered, energized place to bring the best of you forward & not only love how you look but reflect in how you feel during our photoshoot.
& More
I always have coffee chats with clients as we go over the vision, ideas and needs for our upcoming session. Not only do I want you to be in the best mindset you can be, I want you to know you are safe with me. This journey is special and sacred, I am honored to take it with you.
The Most Important Thing You Need At Any Photoshoot With Me
Your boundaires.
We are human first, your vision, time and boundaires are first and foremost yours. I love having the opportunity to capture so much of you and input all my artistic ideas, yet nothing will come to fruition if you are not comfortable and happy with the process as well as the result. We are a team and my values of inclusivity, safety, and authenticity will remain strong as I expect your boundaires to as well.
